This Year and Last Year Search Facility (lookup facility) screen allows you to select a specific valid period within the Financial periods (This Year and Last Year) as set up in the Setup - System Parameters - Reporting Dates menu option. The following screen will be displayed whenever the cursor is in the Date or Periods fields on various screens:



You have the following options to search for a period:

Option	Description
Code	You may type any valid character or up to two characters of the Period Code and the Period Code will be highlighted.
Description	You may type any valid character or characters of the Period Description of your periods and the Period Code will be highlighted. This will usually be January to December.
Auto Select	You may type any valid character or characters of the Period Code or Description field and the Period Code will be highlighted.

TurboCASH includes an advanced algorithm filtering option to search for items on the lookup or search facility. You may right-click on any area of the lookup or search facility to enable or disable the filter. If the Use filter is enabled, the Use filter context menu will display a tick as follows – . To disable the filter, click on the menu to remove the tick. If the filter is enabled, you may locate and select periods on the lookup facilities with ease.

You may also right-click in the scroll bar to launch a context menu on which you may scroll or search for an entry on the lookup or search facility using your mouse. The options are as follows:

Scroll Here - Click to scroll to the selected entry on the list. Top - Click to scroll to the first entry on the list. Bottom - Click to scroll to the last entry on the list. Page Up - Click to scroll to one page up in the viewable area. Page Down - Click to scroll to one page down in the viewable area. Scroll Up - Click to scroll to the top or first entry of the entries displayed in the viewable area. Scroll Down - Click to scroll to the top or last entry of the entries displayed in the viewable area.

In addition to this search by options, the following buttons on your keyboard may also be used:

Key	Description
	The first entry will be displayed on the list according to Code or Description depending on the whether Code or Description is selected in the Search by field.
	The last entry will be displayed on the list according to Code or Description depending on the whether Code or Description is selected in the Search by field.
	The previous entry will be highlighted.
	The next entry on the list will be highlighted.

The Periods Search Facility will automatically be displayed when the cursor is in the from and to (date fields) on the following screens:

A	Edit menu:
	User Reports	Only if This Year or Last Year in the Column Type field and the Absolute method are selected and the cursor is in any of the Date from or to fields.
B	Reports menu:
	Batch Type Reports	This Year or Last Year periods will be listed depending on your selection.
	Creditor Transaction Reports	This Year or Last Year periods will be listed depending on your selection.
	Debtor Transaction Reports	This Year or Last Year periods will be listed depending on your selection.
	General Ledger Transactions	This Year or Last Year periods will be listed depending on your selection.
	Budget Performance	(This Year only)
	Cash Flow	This Year or Last Year periods will be listed depending on your selection.
	Tax Reports	This Year or Last Year periods will be listed depending on your selection.
	Trial Balance	(This Year only) - If Last year only option is selected, the search facility for This Year will be displayed. Although you select from This Year periods search facility, the Trial Balance will be generated for Last year
	Income Statement	(This Year only)
	Balance Sheet	(This Year only)

If you have selected Last Year option on the screens, the heading of this screen (This Year) will be displayed as Last Year. The Period code for last year will be any value between 1 to 12 or 1 to 13 depending of the number of Periods you have setup on the in the Setup -System Parameters - Reporting Dates menu option. If you have entered less than 12 periods, for example 1, only one period will be listed.
